(A brief introduction)
Brahmachari Jeevaraj Gautamchand Doshi, Solapur detached himself from worldly affairs long ago and engaged himself in religious activities. In the Year 1941 he met many Jain scholars and intellectuals and called a meeting at Gajapantha Siddhakshetra to discuss with them how he could utilize his wealth earned with propriety for the uplitment of the society. As a result of this, an institute called ‘Jain Sanskriti Samrakhsaka Sangha’ was established on the auspicious occasion of ‘Akshaya Triteeya’ it was decided that the object of this Sangha will be to publish ancient Sanskrit and Prakrit Literature alongwith other languages to make it available to the society. For this purpose, he donated a lump sum of Rs. 30,000/- to the Sangha. Later his non attachment to worldly pleasures went on increasing. In the year 1944, he dedicated his entire wealth (amounting to Rs. 200000/-) to the sangha as a Trust.
A publishing house named Jeevaraj Jain Granthamala run under the above Sangha undertook the publication work and has hitherto published 48 books in Hindi section, 102 books in Marathi section, 3 books in Kannada section, 6 books in English Section and 16 books in Dhavala section.
